As I embark on this incredible journey of studying abroad at Tuscia University, I am thrilled to share my experiences with you through this monthly blog series. I hope to provide you with a glimpse into my life as an Armenian student in Italy, and share the challenges, adventures, and memorable moments along the way. My arrival in Italy was nothing short of magical. After months of preparations, from obtaining a student visa to packing my bags, I finally made my way to the beautiful city of Viterbo. As I stepped off the plane and set foot on Italian soil for the first time, I was filled with a sense of wonder and excitement. Italy’s vibrant culture, rich history, and mouth-watering cuisine beckoned to me, and I couldn’t wait to immerse myself in this new world.
One of the first steps I took before arriving in Italy was to secure my accommodation. Tuscia University had provided me with options for student dormitories, and after careful consideration, I chose to stay in one of the dorms on campus. The process was straightforward, and the university staff were helpful in guiding me through the application and payment procedures. Upon my arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the dormitory’s cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with fellow international students from different countries creating a diverse community.
My first impression of Tuscia University and Viterbo was awe-inspiring. The campus was nestled amidst picturesque Italian countryside, with historic buildings and lush greenery all around. The city of Viterbo, with its well-preserved medieval architecture, winding streets, and charming piazzas, felt like a living museum. The locals were warm and friendly, and I was greeted with “Benvenuto!” (Welcome!) wherever I went.
