Students of EIU “Law School” Play Mock Jury Trial Game

On May 15, 2019, at the Court Session Hall of Eurasia International University, a lecture-lesson was presented by the students of the “Young Lawyer” school. The sophomores of EIU Law Department were also present.

The pupils imitated Judges, Prosecutors, Secretaries of the sessions and representatives of the parties. The Mock Trial Game was aimed at practicing the norms of Criminal Law, developing practical abilities and skills. The trial imitation was about urged suicide attempts.

After the verdict on “Stand, the Court Comes”, there was dead silence in the in the courtroom and the judge considered the trial open. The future lawyers courageously presented their demands and objections, without any constraints.

Having identified the circumstances of the case and hearing the plaintiff, the defendant, the third party, according to the established procedure, the court passed the consultative room to make a verdict. The judge returned to the court, announced the verdict, and explained to the parties their right to protest the verdict.

After the play, Mary Shahbazyan, the lecturer and students discussed the process of the trial process.

The purpose of EIU “Young Lawyer” School is to develop general knowledge about law in the field of professional orientation, to develop student-centered attitudinal traits, and to develop their initiative.
