FAQ
General Questions
When does the current undergraduate admission start?
The unified exams are held for the current system in two stages: in the first ten days of January, and if the applicant wants to retake the given subject, the exam period starts in the first ten days of June. Distance system exams are held in the second ten days of October of the given year.
Prospective applicants for each grade are required to submit their application forms electronically through the Evaluation and Testing Center (ETC) website, indicating their desired entrance exam and specialization. Additionally, applicants must transfer AMD 1,500 for each subject they intend to take for the joint exam to the designated ETC account.
How can I apply, how many majors can I choose?
During the admission application process, applicants have the flexibility to declare their preferred professions in any sequence, considering both the existing free and paid education systems. According to the admission guidelines, each applicant can participate in the competition for up to two free and up to eight paid specializations across one or more universities, provided that the examination subjects for the chosen specializations align.
It’s important to note that each applicant is restricted to submitting only one admission application. Furthermore, individuals with secondary, pre-vocational, or secondary vocational education qualifications can be admitted to universities without any age restrictions.
When will the current/part-time undergraduate entrance exams be held?
Unified exams for the current system are conducted in two stages: the first stage occurs within the initial ten days of January. For those applicants wishing to retake specific subjects, a second exam period is scheduled within the first ten days of June.
For the distance learning system, exams are scheduled during the second ten days of October each year.
How will the free and paid admission contests be conducted?
The admission contests for both free and paid education programs are conducted in two stages: main and additional.
During the competition for professions, priority is given to the application for the free or paid education of the profession listed first on the admission application. If applicants do not succeed in the competition for their initially declared profession, subsequent competitions are held according to the order of professions listed in the admission application, provided there are vacancies in those professions. Once an applicant is admitted to any profession as per their application order, they are not eligible to participate in the competition for subsequent declared professions.
When are the current undergraduate admissions results released?
The results of the main round of both free and paid undergraduate admissions are typically summarized by July 20 of the given year. These results are officially approved by the Republican Admissions Commission, following which the university’s rector issues a decree to notify the students of their admission status.

Admissions Process: Foreign applicants follow regulations specified in the decree. Upon admission to the preparatory department at EIU, the university initiates the visa application process.

Visa Upon Arrival: In certain cases, foreign citizens from specific countries have the option to obtain visas upon arrival in Armenia at designated border checkpoints. This process usually takes around 20-25 minutes.
Visa Extension: When the visa expires, applicants must apply for a visa extension at the “Passport and Visa Department” located at Mashtots 13a in Yerevan. It’s essential to note that individuals with expired visas may face fines.
Electronic Visa (E-Visa): Applicants also have the option to obtain an electronic visa (e-visa) before their arrival by applying through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia’s website.
For more detailed information on visa authorization and specific requirements, it’s advisable to visit the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
