“The effectiveness of EIU Online Learning process through the eyes of students” is on the agenda of the Academic Council
On the 10the of July 2020, an online session of the Academic Council of Eurasia International University was held, which was chaired by the Chairman of the Council, Doctor of Science, Professor Suren Ohanyan.
During the session, several issues included in the agenda were discussed and approved. One of the highlights of the session agenda was the conclusion of the Intra-university research grant proposal competition. Based on the strategic goals of sustainable development of scientific potential, research, and applicability of innovations, a new Russian-language textbook dedicated to the evolvement and development of legal discourse skills will be published within the framework of joint research. The above-noted handbook includes information on making legal documents, Russian language communication skills in the frames of legal terminology, information on speech ethics as well as some tasks which support the formation of the legal discourse.
The results of the final exams in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year were also covered during the session. In the frames of the above-stated issue, recommendations made by the Student Council as a result of the inquiries on the online learning and examination processes were also presented to Academic Council. The members of the Council discussed the issues related to the process and made decisions on how to overcome them.
The session of the Academic Council touched upon the analysis of the final attestation results of the 2019-2020 academic year, the process of which was assessed positively. The members of the Council noticed that as a result of in-depth cooperation between the Faculties, Research Incubator, and Quality Assurance Center highly reflected on students’ research qualifications, particularly with the assessment criteria, which will be reviewed during the attestation process of the next academic year.
Nune Jomardyan, Head of the Center for International Relations, presented the results of the spring semester of the Erasmus + International Exchange Program for the 2019-2020 academic year, and Arik Ohanyan, Director of the Research Incubator, spoke about the organization and conduct of trainings by the ARMDOCT research program in detail.
Appropriate decisions were made on the issues stated in the agenda. Summing up the sitting, President Suren Ohanyan highlighted the effectiveness of the session and expressed his satisfaction for responding quickly to the new challenges due to the well-known situation, as well as for organizing the educational process of the spring semester at its best on the online platform, which will be considered as a new core for developing and implementing new programs by the university.
