Ciao again! It’s been a month since I started my study abroad journey at Tuscia University, and it’s been a whirlwind of new experiences and exciting adventures. In this second part of my blog series, I’m thrilled to share how I’ve been settling into student life in Italy.
Classes at Tuscia University have been engaging and stimulating. The professors are passionate about their subjects and encourage interactive discussions, which has enriched my learning experience. The small class sizes have allowed me to develop close relationships with my peers and fostered a sense of community within the campus. One of the highlights of studying at Tuscia University is the diverse student body. I’ve met fellow students from all over the world, including Italy, Europe, Asia, and beyond. It’s been fascinating to learn about their cultures, languages, and perspectives, and it has broadened my horizons in ways I never imagined. Outside of academics, there are plenty of extracurricular activities to get involved in. I joined a language exchange program, where I’ve been practicing my Italian and making new friends. I’ve also participated in cultural events organized by the university, such as Italian cooking workshops and guided tours to historical sites, which have allowed me to immerse myself in Italian culture and deepen my appreciation for this beautiful country.

Living in Italy has been a unique and enriching experience. Viterbo, with its medieval charm and friendly locals, has become my home away from home. I’ve been exploring the city and its surroundings, visiting museums, trying local cuisine, and even taking weekend trips to nearby cities like Rome and Florence. Every corner of Italy is filled with history, art, and culture, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in this rich heritage.
Of course, there have been challenges along the way. Adjusting to a new culture, navigating a foreign language, and being away from family and friends can be daunting at times. However, the support from the university staff, fellow students, and local community has been invaluable. From helping with administrative tasks to providing advice on local customs, I’ve felt welcomed and supported throughout my journey.
As I reflect on my first month at Tuscia University, I’m filled with gratitude for the incredible opportunities and experiences I’ve had. Studying abroad has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, broaden my perspective, and grow as an individual. I’m eagerly looking forward to the upcoming months, with more adventures, challenges, and memories to be made. Grazie for joining me on this journey, and I can’t wait to share more with you in the next installment of Italy Diaries!
