EIU Has Participated in Project on Academic Integrity

Plagiarism is the biggest challenge to the scientific environment, and first of all, it is a call to scientific institutions. In the last twenty years, this problem has become more vivid. The spread of information technology and the Internet as a source of information retention and transfer has essentially increased the dimensions and forms of academic dishonesty.

On April 2 Eurasia International University participated in a major research project of the Council of Europe in cooperation with lecturers and students in the field of Academic Integrity in Caucasus, Kazakhstan and Turkey (PAICKT), attaching importance to its educational community representatives, respect for each other’s academic work and recognizing the importance of identifying and protecting intellectual property.

As a university involved in the reasearch, EIU hosted Irene Glendinning, University of Coventry, the coordinator of the program, representative of the same University Tijana Riznić, Dr Dita Dlabolová from the Mendelu University in Brno, and Mkrtich Tonoyan, Project Coordinator in Armenia.

The International researchers were welcomed by EIU Rector, Professor S. Ohanyan. The Rector presented the policy pursued by the university against plagiarism and academic integrity and highlighted the work of the research team, expressing conviction that it have the best effect on education strategy and policy at national and international levels.

The researchers also had meetings with EIU students.
