New academic year is on the agenda of the Scientific Council
On August 31st, 2020 the Scientific Council of Eurasia International University held a session which was chaired by the President of the above-stated Council, Doctor of Science, Professor Suren Ohanyan.
Following the anti-contagion safety rules as well as the decisions by the state emergency commandant’s office, the face-to-face session was started with the approval of the new members of the Academic Council and then a number of issues on the agenda were discussed.
One of the key points of the session was the issue of getting ready for the new academic year, which was presented by Kristine Minasyan, Head of the EIU Human Resources Management Department. Mrs. Minasyan stated, that the University is ready for its 2020-2021 academic year operations, as the disinfection and anti-contagion safety rules by the state emergency commandant’s office due to COVID 19 are being implemented.
The session also covered the 2020-2021 academic year admission results for both the university and the college. The Admission Committee presented the admission indicators, especially the growth of applicants both in numbers and quality. Also, the existing gups in the admission processes were identified, which should be fulfilled by the start of the next admission process.
The council decided the starting hours of the autumn semester’s schedules which is as follows: University lessons will start at 9:30 and college classes will start at 10:00. It will obligatorily for teachers to do physical exercises in parallel with educational lessons.
Taking into consideration a number of other issues related to the effective organization of the educational processes due to the pandemic period, the faculties submitted the revised and improved curricula and syllables to the Academic Council for approval.
The Quality Assurance Center submitted “Procedure for Development of Educational Programs and monitoring” as well as “Procedure for Defining Privileges and Provision of Scholarships” to the Academic Council for the approval for executing changes.
Relevant decisions were made on the issues stated on the agenda. Summing up the session, President Suren Ohanyan assured that despite the new challenges, the university is ready to organize the educational process of the Autumn semester both face-to-face and online, which will mainly affect the development and implementation of new programs.
