Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is a European Union-funded program that supports international exchanges and cooperation in the education, training, and youth sectors. This program offers students, teachers, and institutions the opportunity to participate in mobility projects, strategic partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives.
Erasmus+ is the new EU programme which aims to support actions in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport for 2014-2020. It combines seven existing programmes, including Tempus and Erasmus Mundus.
To achieve its objectives, the Erasmus+ Programme implements the following 3 Key Actions (KA) and other activities:
- Learning mobility of individuals (KA1)
- Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practices (KA2)
- Support for policy reform (KA3)
- Jean Monnet Activities
- Actions in the field of sport
Erasmus+ Programme is open to the following countries: PROGRAMME COUNTRIES, which can fully take part in all the Actions of the Erasmus+ Programme:
- 27 Member States of the European Union (EU) and 6 Non-EU Programme Countries (former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia and Turkey).
PARTNER COUNTRIES, which can take part in certain Actions of the Programme, subject to specific criteria or conditions:
Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine,
Southern Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia,
Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo (in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence),
Other: Russian Federation
OTHER PARTNER COUNTRIES: Some actions of the Programme are open to any Partner Country of the world. For some other Actions, the geographical scope is less broad.

Mobility (KA1)
International Credit Mobility (ICM) Action of Erasmus+ Programme provides opportunities for STUDENTS as well as STAFF of higher education institutions situated in third countries not associated with the Programme to undertake a learning and/or professional experience in another country.
A Higher Education Institution (HEI) located in Armenia can send its students or staff to an HEI located in 27 EU Member States and 6 third countries associated with the Programme and vice versa.
Capacity (KA2)
The Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action supports international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of higher education.
The activities and outcomes of CBHE projects must be geared to benefit the eligible third countries not associated with the Programme, their higher education institutions and systems.
Jean Monnet Chair
Teaching post with a specialisation in European Union studies for university professors. A Jean Monnet Chair must last for three years and must have a minimum duration of 90 teaching hours per academic year which include group lectures, seminars, and tutorials, including in a distance format, but not individual instruction.
Jean Monnet Chairs are named after Jean Monnet (1888-1979), one of the main architects of European integration.
Jean Monnet Module
A Jean Monnet Module is a short teaching programme (or course) in the field of European Union studies at a higher education institution.
Each Module has a minimum duration of 40 teaching hours per academic year and must focus on one particular discipline in European studies or be multidisciplinary requiring the academic input of several professors and experts.
