Internal system of quality assurance

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives” ascribed to William A. Foster.

Internal Quality Assurance System

The Quality Assurance Center at Eurasia International University is a department tasked with ensuring internal quality standards by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, the university’s charter, and internal administrative decisions. It oversees various aspects including research, educational practices, and management methodologies, thereby fostering continuous improvement in the university’s quality.

The primary objectives of the centre include:

  1. Ensuring alignment of educational programs and conferred qualifications with European and national standards and guidelines.
  2. Cultivating a culture of accountability and quality throughout the university.
  3. Establishing a methodological, organizational, technical, and informational framework to facilitate external quality assessments.
  4. Contributing to the fulfilment of the university’s mission and strategic objectives.

External assessment

In 2023, Eurasia International University underwent re-accreditation by the ANQA (National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance), with the decision subsequently approved by the RA Ministry of Education and Science. The accreditation process adhered to both national and European standards and guidelines, affirming the university’s adherence to specified standards (European Standards and Guidelines).

Graduates of the Eurasia International University are given a diploma supplement corresponding to the form developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe, and UNESCO/CEPES.  The annexe is aimed at providing sufficient data, which will improve the international “transparency” of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates, etc.) and “fair” academic and professional recognition. It is intended to present a description of the academic program of the student’s choice, his/her academic performance and status.

The supplement provides.

  • Description of the qualification which is more comprehensible and easily comparable abroad.
  • A clear description of the student’s final results as well as the level of competency about those results.
  • An easier opportunity for job placement due to more comprehensible information found for the employer.

The supplement of the diploma comprises the following parts:

  1. Information about the qualified person
  2. Information about the qualification
  3. Information about the level of qualification
  4. Information about the content and achieved results
  5. Information about the function of the qualification
  6. Supplementary information
  7. Information about the national higher education system

Eurasia International University swiftly aligned with the European Higher Education Area standards following Armenia’s integration into the Bologna Process in 2005, issuing Bachelor’s degrees and later Master’s degrees in the same year. By adopting a two-phase system, the university embraced a key aspect of the Bologna Process.

From 2006 to 2007, EIU implemented a credit system based on the European ECTS model, guided by government directives and the Ministry of Education and Science. This comprehensive reform included workload reassessment, new educational plans, revised course outlines, and updates to administrative procedures. The university underwent structural changes, establishing new departments focusing on academic development, quality assurance, research, career services, and non-formal education.

In line with Bologna principles, quality assurance measures emphasized participatory decision-making and a student-centred approach. Continuous faculty and staff training, including visits to foreign universities and collaboration with international experts, ensures ongoing adaptation to evolving educational standards and practices.

Eurasia International University (EIU) stands as a pioneer among private higher education institutions, having spearheaded EU-funded Erasmus+ mobility and capacity-building projects.
